It is important for any sectional title development to be correctly insured. If you are insured for a lower amount than the replacement value of your complex, average will be applied to your claim by the insurance company and only a pro-rata amount will be paid out which can have far-reaching implications for the Body Corporate.
Over insurance is a safe option but again will cost you money which is to be avoided as far as possible in the current economic climate.
The insurance of the sectional title development is the responsibility of the Body Corporate in conjunction with their Managing Agent.
